Golden Lining, Silver Hook
By LovelyUndead
Listen closely to the pampered rain, lingering though through thundering
pain
A golden lining, and silver hook, and tides that swell with a single look
Casting glows from moonlit skies, twinkling with vast and simmering lies
Of the once fair weather that we had learned to love and accept
Up, and down, swallowing the heart because it must drown
Like a shipwrecked boat, lodged like the ever gasping throat
Gasping desperately for air, sidelong, glancing, without a prayer
But soon the noise will quell, replaced with a blood-beating bell
Sinking lower and lower until the light of the mood fades away
The conscious replaced with impossible dreams, picking slightly at coiled
seams
The silver lining… the golden hook… buried within the riches crook…
The crook that stole the heart away, that watched as life faded away
The light behind the eyes… fading away

Stepped way outside my comfort zone... still unsure of how I feel about this one.Comments on "Golden Lining, Silver Hook"

This poem really touched my soul. You have a talent for these kinds of poems, in my opinion at least. I look forward to the next. =)
