Overcast

By LeadAndSway

Amity and memories are set in stone
Remembrance presents itself in cryptic tones
And I have so much more left to say
Just one more day
And a lifetime after that

Blind optimists
How can some view life like this?
The dead weight it carries, too engaging to neglect

The months roll past
Under clouds of overcast
"Slaughter of The Soul" hangs on my wall out of respect

My darkest day
Is the one that took you away
Young blood, stripped of life it's both tragic and a fucking shame

Strife rides life in the fast lane
Always striking
The young and promising, they go long before their time

Now all I have
Is the ability to recollect
All the traits we shared over the fifteen years we had

Walking this life
I blink you're out of site
Five years have passed, it's still something I cannot accept

I could tear this world in half
If it would bring you back
For one more day and a life time after that

You will
Forever remain
In my heart and mind

RIP

Sorrowful indeed. But if you're writing this, I think you're on the way to accepting it happened. Keep it up.

The sorrow sings out like a wave in this piece. It rises and falls, contemplating where to put itself. Well wrought, my dear.
