Desertwalker

By nkronsch

She, Desertwalker
Alone she strides
Through hallowed sands
As a dry wind cries:

"O, Desertwalker?
Where doth thee go?
Doth not Solaris
Bring heated sweat to
Thy furrowed brow?"

Yet she strides on
unhearing, unheard
As a dry wind cries
Of her journey absurd:

"O, Desertwalker
Where doth thee go?
Ye know vengeanceseeds
in sand sown won't grow!"

Yet she strides on
unhearing, unheard
As the dry wind dies
With a final whisper:

"o desertwalker
soon ye'll know
the words i speak
as your mind goes
are the final truth
ye'll ever know"

Yet she strides on
unhearing, unheard
Until a thought
Occurs to her:

"O, Desertwalker
Ye are the wind
Ye're on a path
of madness sin
Your mind has gone
are ye even alive?
Like the sand
ye're withered inside."

And she stops
With a final cry of anguish
Gives in to the temptation
and dies as the rain pours
