Season Song
By Eisen
Tramp and tread of battered boot
From dawn to dusk with fearless foot
Poet’s path, the wanderer's way
Where winding road may move today
Spring’s spark covers meadow and mire.
Beyond tops of trees are melting mountains, looming higher
gracing running river’s fleet flowing water.
Growing green gracing life’s newborn daughter
Now begins summer’s song, hailing heat
Tall trees, natures proof of pride complete.
Weeping willow, white oak, walnut tree
Life’s labor evident for wide world to see
Fall’s fire blushes over modest maple leaf
Her face hued with red relief.
Fickle fragrance, the cool crisp air
patient preparation for welcome winter’s care
Clear and cold the snow felled field.
Tall pine’s majesty, winter’s warmth revealed
Blizzard blankets with snow so rife
Frozen branches cling still to life
No end nor start to time’s true reason
Thinking thoughts of each sanguine season
I wonder, wander, through wide world’s way
gladdened, grateful for each radiant day.
