Autumn's Betrayal
By SnowQueen
thanks for the title Stranger...
Years filled with your passion
Your touch
The fluttering heartbeats that accompanied us and
Set the tune of our love
My memory speaks of...
The springs we spent seducing each other
The ecstasy you brought me to
In the dead night.. we were shining life.
The secure African lily
In the depth of our golden summer garden
A growth that sealed a romance
A lust that blossomed into a love
Your scent surrounded me
The warmth of your presence
Carried away with the autumn wind
Startled by the sudden cold breeze
My feet stay planted firmly to the ground where we last were...
Because my mind... it’s searching for the moment
That second- where my world was so violently shaken.
My heart... has a softened beat.
The people that pass by me will be in awe
Lost in their wonders
Of what sublime loss I created for myself
How the little girl will ever piece together her crumbled heart
Why this frost?
Why in these short months..
Everything is lost. Everything has turned black.
This monsoon that has taken you and left me alone.
My sweet, lost love.
The mistake I planted will wither and die
Should I be punished? Be forced to melt away with winter’s ice?
How you will miss me...

I forgot how much I enjoyed reading your work.. There seems to be this.. strage sort of familiarity I find in your works whenever I stumble across them. I love this.. and I would love to see new work from you too :)

Thank you for another beautiful poem Snow Queen. I hope that this winter does not last forever. A person's heart would have to be made of stone not feel the pain and regret and longing spoken of here.

a good title to a good poem. the imagery made me daydream in anime style. i could picture the scene of growth, green fields, and love, suddenly being shaken up, returning to gray skies. beautifully written. :)
