Charred Silhouette
By Virgils Vigil
Withered eyes
Smoke sometimes
When out of moisture
Cauterize
Caught inside
Cognate will-o-wisp
Can't defy
Though I try
To be boisterous
Shapes pass by
Mystified
At all that I miss

Ever get the feeling that people you are watching are actually watching you? We try to appear normal, but sometimes...people just know. I get paranoid. Nice observation of observation, Vigil.

I really enjoyed the first and last stanza. This is the perfect type of poem, to me. Precise words, nothing extra. Beautiful use of element. Defined yet vague and mysterious. One of my favorites I've read in a while. Thanks for posting. +tpu+
