Gates of Fire
By DeafSoldier
I marched with my soldiers
Clad in bronze armor and our bronze shield
I proudly follow the descendent of Heracles
Standing guard at the narrow pass.
I follow the code
Of Spartan honor
And I do not back down
Standing guard at the narrow pass.
Wave after wave of numberless Immortals
But I shall not falter
Obey the Stoic code and my Spartan honor
Standing guard at the narrow pass.
As Euphrates leads them through the mountain
We stand and fight for our home
With Leonidas and the Spartans and Thespians
Along this pass, we make our final stand, our final hour.
"Go tell the Spartans,
Stranger passing by,
That here, obedient to Spartan law,
We lie."

Your write gives me the feeling that you were/are a soldier, or have a stern strict personality. Nice piece; the life of a soldier!

I'm not a soldier but I'm positive I was a soldier in a past life.
