Hopelessly

By Elle Amore

Your words,
Enchant. With the flick
of a pen, they bring me to the edge
of all reason.

And I fall.

So dangerously, excitedly in.
Into you. And all of you that you let me see
and feel, beneath my fingertips as they trace
as far as you'll let my hands go.
Distracting me with yours.

I take you in,
Wholly and completely.
Wishing to read you, the way you flip through my pages.
Intrigued, drinking in all that you'll give me
Silently begging for more.
And you fill me, until I can hold no more.

In a way that leaves me satisfied.
As no one ever has.
Completely mesmerized, as if your words
Were being whispered to me, in the dark
Hands through my hair, a gentle pull
To speak them to my lips, graze them softly,
Almost innocently.
Almost.

To speak of where we've fallen.
And how we will never escape from here.
