(un)Happy Valentines Day (In Memorium)

By MirrorEye

It was six years ago today,
That dreadful day you passed away.
I never got the chance to say,
Happy Valentines Day.

We shared an amazing few years together.
Every day was a gift, one to always treasure.
We promised to stay with eachother, forever.
Through good times and bad, no matter the weather.

But the day that you needed me, I wasn't there.
I went off without you, and you thought I didn't care.
I left you alone, and you didn't know where.
You were in pain, and I wasn't there to share.

I came home as soon as I got the call.
Telling me you were lying dead in a blood pool.
I showed up at the funeral, your body looked so small.
I promised that i wouldn't cry, but my tears began to fall.

I guess I'm writing this poem to say,
I'll always love you, and Happy Valentines Day.

It's been hard, and it broke me completely. It's the reason I wear a razor on a chain around my wrist.
