Endless Journeys

By bluehoney19

These set of tracks, they stretch for miles
Yet the've never know any train
They lie in the middle of an open dessert
That not once has seen any rain

The bright, hot sun beats down upon it's ties
And still yet they haven't a crack
Many have studied it's mysterious strength
But for reasons unknown, they always turned back

Even though it appears to be straight
Still you will find no end
Because in time, you'll always end up
In the very same spot you began

Who any why would they've put it here?
And what could it possibly mean?
Round N round in circles you'll go
Never being able to change it's routine

Maybe the person who laid them
Their thoughts may work the same
Staying inside of their own little world
Lacking the strength to accept a change

You see this person, they only appear to be strong
And seems tougher than any nail
Deep down inside always hidden and weak
Only surrounded by a hard shell

Just as the tracks appear to be strong
And looks as if they are straight
An endless journey is all you will find
If you followed them day after day

Their mind working circle after circle
All thoughts seem to just spin
Not having the control to slow them down
They just keep turning again and again

Even though they appear to stand tall
Looking as though they are unable to break
Strength is something they will never know
If like the tracks, they've not carried any weight

In time all things will crumble from age
And their flaws will soon start to show
This is when the shell has cracked
Revealing what was hidden so long ago

Those of us who are truly strong
Need no shell, for we posses inner strength
We are the foundation that support the ties
where the endless track was laid
