Darkened Seas

This is just a small reminder of who you are
And in time, what you will become to be
You dont know what may strike tomorrow
Before your slate was able to be wiped clean.

Every single day we live
Is one less day we'll have to overcome
Thinking back on the battles we've lost
And remembering the wars we've won.

The wars and battles, we've faught in the past
They are what made us who we are today
They trials and tears that have yet to come
May have stalled, but still on their way.

For those trial and events, they are destined to be
As long as we stay on the winding path
Once you reach a particular point
It becomes harder to turn and go back.

Then again if one's path never curves
And there have never been any bumps in their road
Strength is something they've never possesed
When the lightening, their weakness will grow.

The abilities to overcome the small tests we face
Is a gift that strengthens over time
There are still a few who continue to fall
Finding themselves at the end of the line.

Even when we feel our shoulders are worn
We are never given more than we can carry
No two upon this earth are exactly alike
Therefore our limits, they all vary.

Yet our journey has only just begun
Once we reach the end of our path
Climbing an endless chain of snow-capped mountains
Until the mid-morning horizon appears to be flat.

After we have crossed the heated flats
Still yet we have found no end
Left to swim the Darkened Seas
Finding your way to land once again.

So you see, life's trials, they never cease
They just differ as your life slowly ages
Living your days, only one by one
As does the reader turn their pages.
