:: THE HELLBOUND HEART ::

By Dark Valkyrie

And there she was;

Standing before him;

Cloaked in the darkness and desolation of the frozen winter night;

Everything he had ever dreamt of;

Everything he had ever wanted.

She was mystery,

She was seduction,

She was passion,

She was beauty.

Her eyes stared into his ill-fated soul.

They were as black as the darkest night that any imagination could possibly fathom.

He knew that she could see everything.

Every dirty little secret that he had kept concealed,

Every dark desire that he wanted fulfilled,

Everything he coveted and wanted hidden from the outside world.

For her only - it was as visible as droplets of blood in a sea of white.

Yet he kept his gaze steady upon the void standing before him.

And if only he would come forth and free her from her invisible bondage,

He knew that she would service him.

She would service him until his pleasure reached the threshold that like all thresholds was a place where the strong grew stronger and the weak perished.

Where pleasure was pain and vice versa.

And she knew it well enough to call it home.

Author's Note:

Few lines were inspired by Clive Barker who in my opinion is one of the greatest horror-fiction writers of all time.
