a breaking of will.

By eidos

I fear the day that I no longer fear being mediocre.
the day that I decide that this
is as good as it gets.
I fear the day that I lose this fear
of myself.

i echo these thoughts and feelings....usually when i'm uninspired about the world...what is the point of achieving more than mediocre when we all end up the same anyway...dead and buried, for what purpose would all the time and effort be? maybe there is no time....everything is temporary, even these futile thoughts...what is the point and purpose of conjuring these thoughts...lol damn! thank you for seizing this...-=*AK*=-

Of all the newer poets to this site (perhaps you're a returning member though?) you are my favorite. This poem is just an example why. I have this fear, most people struggle with this same fear but could I possibly wrap all these sentiments up in such few words and tie it with a pretty ribbon like you? Probably not. And this is so appropriately title as well. Sigh. All I can say is harness that fear and use it to always push yourself. Sigh again.
