So Began September

By DavidVale

Autumn, when the harsh winds blow
Behind the windowglass
His moody mood at all time low
For what has come to pass

The walls can't keep the weather out
Cold relentlessly creeps in
To chill his bed, the one without
Her blazing body in

There were times when tangled limbs
When sleepy, lingering kisses
Brought about such sweetest things
That have been dearly missed

His legs are numb, he shivers some
He tries to wait for dawn
And for the time when she would come
And make the ice be goneĀ
