Please Do

By DavidVale

Trace the lines of steely sadness
Feel a moment of unending madness
Take the step that's outside your bounds
Hope you will find what never was found

Cherish the memories dismissed too soon
Know that you were a blundering fool
Search for a way to ever be seen
Confess to the world that you want her to feel

Do what you can to make her feel good
Stand in the corner where you've always stood
Admire her shine and her joy and her grace
Don't you dare say all that full in her face!

Patch the holes she creates within your soul
Think not of her, you obsessed-sleepless owl
Learn to forget and be selfless, let go
Accept that of this, she never shall know...

  • A former member wrote: Lonely but well written. Sometimes it is good to be selfless but it can also be good to take the risk.

  • A former member wrote: This sounds very personal and coming from a lonely place. It's just too selfless for me... If ever I chose not to confess my love, it wasn't because I wanted the person to be happy. It was because the world I had created around my love was just too perfect, I knew there was no chance reality could ever match it.
