catalyst.

By past tense

She closes her eyes
like a frustrated man
beats.his.head against brick walls:

hoping when he pulls back
there will be a [different] way
to the past.

but sometimes;
love doesn't prevail.
and the way she inhales
it's like bones

-cracking inside chests.
rib.cage crescendo, crushed
like words bear weight
under cinderblocks

-pens be damned-

this is life,
she screams [between] monologues
of fruit.less endeavour.ers
and her poetry
__falls__flat__
when she tries.

So why try.
