he pulls back

to the past.

but sometimes;
love doesn't prevail.
and the way she inhales
it's like bones
-cracking inside
chests.
rib.cage crescendo, crushed
like words bear weight
under cinderblocks
Â
-pens be damned-
Â
this is life,
she
screams [between] monologues
of fruit.less endeavour.ers
and
her poetry
__falls__flat__
when she tries.Â
