muderous orchestra

By skymaw

The orchestra strikes up
swirling across the dance floor

hand in hand
in perfect unison we fly

in a tangle of fabric and dreams
never doubting
never aware

 tempo increasing
causing a swirl of dancers across the floor,

spinning even faster
in a rhythmic dance
you never saw the flash of betrayal in my eyes

my Cheshire cat smile fooled you

striking deep in to the centre of your chest
the feeling of warmth spreading through my body
my pleasure in seeing your blood dripping on to the dance floor
removing your beating heart and placing it in my bag

looking in to your face
I move a stray hair to hold you lingering gaze

I  whisper
I only take what was given freely,

listening to the screams of the other dancers
echoing across the room send shivers of pleasure down my spine

but sadly it is drawn to a conclusion all to soon..............................
