Night is not as Dark as it Used to be

By LovelyUndead

My dear, I only ever wanted to drain the pain from your eyes
But I never got that chance
The whistles in the air have distracted you from what's real

What's real anymore?

Silver tongue splits your eardrums into splinters
Though you fail to take notice

How far is far enough to run from your gaze?

Halfway across the country I can hear you sob at night
Even when you think I do not listen
My dear, I only ever wanted what was best in this world
But no one can see through cataracts
I fear your cataract is failure to realize you can be happy

Or perhaps you never wanted to be
