Jamison and Fringe

By Ashes the Emo Fae

The pretty little veins
Such a vibrant violet shade against her soft ivory skin
A delightfully beautiful work of art
Done by the big man upstairs
I almost hate to break it
It would be such a shame to ruin it
It almost makes me want to leave it be
And show the world that magnificent perfection

Almost...

The hunger calls to me
Whispers like the little devil that it is
I can almost see its pointed teeth bared in a grin
While it speaks of crimson ambrosia
The elixir of life I need
In order to keep strength and survive
I don't want to listen
But I really have no choice
I need the strength, have to survive

So off I go...

She doesn't seem to notice me yet
I suppose that is good
She won't feel a thing
If I sneak up and surprise her
I won't have to ruin the pretty dress
That seems to play off her ghostly skin so well
Since she won't have time to struggle
Just a quick drink
Hopefully not too much
I hope she doesn't scream
And alert others of my presence
It would be a shame to kill her

There she is...

Beautiful, exquisitely so
She makes my mouth water as she passes by my shadow
Without even a second glance
In step behind her
Silent as the night itself
That's right
Stay in the alleyways
No else comes back here
Such a silly girl
Why must the beautiful ones be so naive?
Perhaps so I can have a treat once in a while
Isn't that such a nice way to think about it?

A couple more steps...
Three...
Two...
One...
A scream, soon cut off
Silence, except for the occasional gulp
Right until the heart stops for good
Such a shame
She really was a beautiful creature
I hate that she had to die
But she left me no choice
It really is a waste of beauty...

Oh well.

Author's Note:

I came up with this while trying to write my novel. It didn't really fit in the story, but that doesn't mean it should go to waste.
