Altar

 Pounding heart and sweaty palms,
a banality  of love,
little butterflies in my stomach
a cliche of love poems
battered heart,
bitter soul
scars over scars over scars
All left from your journey
through my little life
Tipped everything over
and turned it upside down
and left me bleeding at your altar.
