They Came By Moonlight

By SleepingDead

They come by moonlight
In a carriage filled with sin
To grab you by the arms
And quicky drag you in

Pulled by black horses
At breakneck speed
You cannot outrun them
You'll never be freed

They come by moonlight
In a carriage filled with fire
Beckon you with everything
A dark heart has desired

They find you in the dark
He steps out with a grin
A deal is sealed, a contract signed
They'll soon be back again

The moon is full
The clock strikes three
It's his hour
They're comingĀ for me

I hear galloping outside my door
I hear footsteps on their way
I hear a ghastly voice speak
I know what he has to say

His mood changes
'How can this be?'
He curses and grumbles
But then he leaves me be

They came by moonlight
In a carriage I so feared
But for a reason, I know
I am still here

They came by moonlight
Filled with hope, left with hate
They wanted my soul, you see
ButĀ Lucifer was just too late
