Death etched neatlly in darkness
A knife concealed easily amidst a sleeve
This hatred shrouded by a laughing face
Smiles and good graces never faded so quickly....

With an air of confidence never retreating
And an arrogance never leaving
Someday this truth will puncture
This membrane (surrounding your lust)
                  For what?
            (I'll never know)

And love is fleeting
    A fading emotion
(I've never seen it grow)

No matter how much shit
                     (mostly fertilizer)
                is tossed on it

Because memories are what bring smiles

       And we'll never make any of either
