Nothing Holy

By Doomy_One

I burned a thousand twisted, swinging bridges
On my way from sea to shining sea
Just to ensure my icy stare stayed frigid
And praying nothing holy followed me

I sat and stared for hours in a graveyard
To try and see the man that I could be
I ventured forth through many a spoiled chasm
And nothing ever holy followed me

I dreamed again
A devil leads my hand
I screamed again
The solid ground is crumbling at my feet…

I wandered west with wild and worried abandon
The hounds of Hell were nipping at my heels
An angel saw me stand upon a mountain
And prayed that something holy’d make me kneel

The way that Brother Cain slew Brother Abel
The way a vulture circles ‘round the dead
The way a heathen burns the Holy Bible
That’s the way I’ll clear my weary head

I dreamed again
A devil leads my hand
I screamed again
The solid ground is crumbling at my feet
The solid ground is crumbling at my feet
The solid ground is crumbling at my feet…
