she

By DarkBlades

She has slain me with her unrivaled beauty.

To win her heart has become my duty.

She haunts me as I lay awake at night.

I wake every morning to obtain her sight.

I yearn the day that I can confess.

But fear steals my tongue and words stay in my chest.

I want to tell her but fear what may follow.

What she may tell me and in sadness I’ll wallow.

So on I watch as I sit ignored.

Holding and hiding the emotions I’ve stored.

Many girls have said “Hey you’re a cutie!”

I replied “Sorry I must fulfill my duty.”

In my mirror I try to get right.

My words so I’m not caught in eternal blight.

Now here she is I can’t regress.

In her ear I whispered “You’re the best.”

Her expression was no longer bored.

But to my surprise there was no discord.

She flashed me a smile and said “You’re a cutie.”

Maybe now I can fulfill my duty.

There we sat together at night.

Her perfect eyes reflecting moonlight.

And this night I did confess.

My love for a girl that’s better than the rest.

There was no reason to fear what did follow.

For it’s in her kiss I did wallow.

I have let out the emotions I’ve stored.

Now she’s my lady and I’m her lord.
