Revelations

By Daryl Bracken

 Time has run it's course
I lay waiting for Death
His touch is welcomed
The afterward is my Revelation

My body stops as if a switch is thrown
the heart no longer beats
My last breath frozen in time
the light leaves my eyes

I Chase Memories like bread crumbs
Spread throughout my mind
Leading me back through my past
I realize now my first will be my last

Revelation, there is no salvation
no Heaven or Hell
The light of life fades
this is my end of days
My life like a movie
Seen till the end
when all is said and done
the screen goes Dark
THE END
