Exceptional
By Chalin
the spacious room,
the peeling walls,
it all surpasses me;
a girl who slides
across the room-too
careful of her image
wrapped into her skirt
i know i am a lost cause;
a Baptist Reject and my
father's favourite subject to
shun
i understand these people, and
why they wish to become
their parents-
How I wish i could
save them from their
Mental Hell and
promises sold at cost-
like some kind of sale on
broken vows;
teach a passionless
way to experience
the things they've worked so hard for
and make it
seem Exceptional;
an extra-sensory
belief system
that shouldn't be
so pre-packaged
and Shiny.
It shouldn't be so
Attractive.
