I Cried

By Daryl Bracken

Sitting alone in the dark, I think of you and cry
I think of all the plans we made, our hopes and fears
The love we made and the dreams we shared.

You said you would stay forever, and never leave my side
you were to be my groom and I to be your bride
we were to have a family, but you only lied

My mind screams: how could you lie?
We talked of hopes and Dreams
You gave me this engagement ring
we kissed and held each other tight

Tonight I know you lied

I sit in the dark and think, a single candle lit
So that I may stare into your eyes, and still I cry
I cry not over hopes and dreams, I cry becasue you lied

Sitting in the dark I think of all these things
For on this day you died, I cried.....
