The Fear

By Daryl Bracken

I never feared the night It came and went like the day
Now it is not the night But the moon I fear
I remember the attack
It happened just last year
Now it is not the moon but the change I fear
I feel the change Happening
It painfully contorts my body
Now it is not the change but the hunger I fear
I hunt within the city
It is hard to fight the instinct
now it's now the hunger but the prey I fear
I strike with deadly passion
It is good to feed the hunger
now it's not the prey it is What I am I fear
I am a man by daylight
It is the moon that brings the wolf
now What I am is real and that's my biggest fear
