These Wings

By Daryl Bracken

I tear these wings from my body
Casting them them to the Abyss
For the price of them is to high

These wings are no more then chains
Forced on bended knees forever Praising
A slave to your Will

These wings traded for my immortal soul
measured by my willingness to serve
that what you gave me taken on a whim

These Wings to mark me as a faithful
Me finding it hard to love you
When your idea of my salvation

Was to kill your only Son
