Demon of Truth

By Kittykat

There is a demon lurking,
It thrives on our lies,
Truths that are most painful,
Are the ones it makes us find.

It came to me without warning,
Creeped into my life,
An evil without mercy,
I could sense it late at night.

I began to feel it follow me,
But didn't know what or why,
It carried a message for me,
Snatched the blinders from my eye's.

Shivers wracked my body,
 nightmares when I'd sleep,
The truth it would show me,
Made me sick and weep.

The demon was actually smiling,
When the truth was there to see,
It new my every happiness,
Was ripped away from me.

All the trust I ever had,
For my fellow man,
Was forever more in pieces,
Crumpled in it's hand.

It thrived upon the hurtful truth,
An evil demons way,
 I saw my true reality
A piece of my soul died that day.

Really all it show me,
Is what I failed to see,
Deception was all around,
True lies and infidelity.

This demon is a mean one, he traveled with me when i left my sisters house and came to cause havok , my sister got so much truth from it it almost killed her, I don't know who it followed next but my heart goes out to the person, We are surrounded by demons and each one I beleive has different way of tormenting us.
