Worship Me

By Chalin

you've already left-
me, still steady and
sobbing for your
shadow

i want you to retreat,
back to my arms
where I'm safe and
content just to
love you

you refuse to touch
and make us real.
instead you go, and

I don't watch your
footsteps, echoing
out of control and

out of my life-
overwhelmed by the
sudden loss of you
as the important
presence in my life.

My redeeming decision-
so many plans built
upon you;
my foundation that
was never supposed to crumble

i sit amongst
the memories and
sift through what

little you left me
to worship.
