Mother Snake

By dark_sister

The softness and the sweetness
is making me wretched.
Biting my tongue.
I want to be growled at
and raked over the coals.
A longing for a hardness I'll never have.
The tough, steel-eyed girl I'll never be.
My eyes are cursed with
some kind of honey magic,
when what I need is venom
and sharp, sharp snake teeth.
