Tristesse

By Guttercat

Whispering petaloid whorls
In a garden of dusk
Verdant despair
I thread a path untrod
In a time betwixt murmurs
Silence of the spheres
Scarlet lilies bleed cerisian tears
Drops of amethyst mixed with gravel
I cut my finger on a lilac edge
A breath of leprosy
A taste of haematite
It can’t hurt something broken
Bruised hearts
Diseased purpurate fruits
Hoarded & fermented
A bitter caustic brew
It burns the delicate linings
& lulls me to a fevered slumber
Amidst the fecund roots
To dream of sadness everlasting
