Dear Borg
By Electra Woman
I love that you are the strong and silent type.
I want to make you eggs and tell you about
my day....look into your one good eye and
see the expressionless gaze.
I love that you don't love me....no pressure
to give....no reason to impress.
Caress your black leather, feeling you feel
nothing. Tie your wires back so my lips will
cool against your perfect flesh.
You will never notice the fallen eyelash on
my cheek and brush it away. You will never
notice the change in my mood and ask me
what's wrong. I can hybernate with you and
steel your peace.
I will take you to the mall and treat you to nothing.
Never having to feel the weight of you keys in my
purse.
You will never give me elementary advice..you will
never tell me what the problem with me is...because
you can't.
I can watch the "Golden Girls" with you and not feel
you eyeing the remote....I feel no guilt...no shame..
unconnect with you.
I don't have to pretend to like Splenda over
Sweet & Low....never have to explain myself or
defend my character.
Oh dear Borg....I want to be a part of the Collective.
Oh my lovely, barren creature.
Never love me, and I will return the favor.

sigh.............. was it the borg..... or did 'humanity' create this... a blending of worlds.... where inhumanity shows its humanity. or is it vice versa......welcome to the valley, as V would say.

Awesome. Wonderful use of the Borg concept to create one hell of a metaphor.

I thought it was possible, but I never actually thought that I would see the day when Star Trek and poetry met. Hehe, good write anyways, definitely impressive. *tips hat*
