Burned

By DowngradeBeauty

keep you beautiful in my mind
paint me a masterpiece for this life and I,
these picket fences that you dreamed
are a wonderfully cruel and corrupted thing
and I
make me a border of space defined
watch you escape in the breath of time again
hidden behind these perfect doors
a tortured soul that screams for more
and I
I was one in the flame
I was trapped in this game
and I forgot the sunblock
once again

sacred are the things that have to be
the lines defined are the symmetry I lied
a tale is told becomes a tree
the root of what is everything and I
want to hold you near my heart
let you watch me fall apart again
beaten ,naked, I can't move
I lie here silent while my spirit lies with you
and I
I was one in the flame
I was trapped in this game
somehow I forgot the sunblock once again

here I am a Friday night
I don't sparkle I don't shine and I
take the tequila and northern lights
all that's left to remind me that
I'm alive
I'm alive
I'm alive
I'm alive
and I
