Assassin

By Henry Coldnight

Steady gentle steady
the faster she dances
the faster they falls

She did not come to dance
all by herself, of course
Everyone stayed
out of their way
one way or another

[Steady gentle steady]

Can you see the melody
Can you hear the bitterness
Can you feel the scent
Can you taste the roughness
Can you smell the colors

Steady gentle steady
the more she dances
the more they falls

It's not a bird
It's not a plane
And it's definitely not
Red cape in tights

[Steady gentle steady]

You think she's cruel
Her metallic dance partner
isn't nearly as kind or
as graceful as her

Steady gentle steady
the more she dances
the more they dances
