Chapter 15 The Prequel of Her Life

By Henry Coldnight

-------------------------
In the restroom,
Dr. Shepherd went and splashed some water on his face and just stood there for a moment with his eyes closed. Calming himself with every breath, just like he always does before any major operation.

Except it isn't.
-----------------------------
On the way to ER...

Surgeon A: Poor girl, I just hope we're not too late.

Surgeon B: Is Shepherd going to be okay with this?

Surgeon A: He has to, he's the best we have got.

Newcomer Surgeon: What happened to her?

Surgeon A: Her name is Claire, age 25, she was having dinner with her family when an unkown psycho' broke into her home. All the other family members were gunned down right there by a revolver; her boyfriend saw the opportunity that the killer was out of ammo and took out the family sword on the wall, all he got for being a hero was the deadly wound through the chest. She was the lucky and the unlucky one; when the police arrived, she had been slashed and stabbed many times before they put eleven holes in that monster to make sure that he doesn't move again.

The group is now silent as they approached the destination. These people are professionals, and the professionals are always serious at what they do.
-------------------------------------
I cannot see because my vision is now blurry. I must be dreaming, or just waking up.
I'm not really sure what happened just now, but I know I had a good life, and this is just a bad dream. When I wake up tomorrow, I know everything will be alright again.

I know so. Truely.
-------------------------------------
"We are losing her!"
"Doctor, we have slowed the bleeding but she had already lost too much blood!"
Charging. Clear. Boom...

[everything went dark]
