Chapter 9.5 Occasional Starlight

By Henry Coldnight

I was staring into
the space,
nowhere,
when they were trying
to talk,

which was the only thing
I could do--

before they,
or the music
tear me apart,
inside and out--

I stared at myself
inside and out:

under my clothes is my skin;

under my skin is my body;

under and within my body is
a pitch black,

fishing around
in the dark
and realized
-when I saw the sign on the back of my head-
that
this is my "Mind,"
of course.

inside my mind are my angelic wings and...
What IS that?

A gloomy orb,
hovering,
constantly changing
on the inside,
occasionally

Starlight.
