Life

By Child of GOD

this thing called life.
is so deep, yet serene
dark, yet not pressured
and when we seek hope
it seems to flutter mockingly
in our faces.
my life, unwary,untold
is of a wasted fortune of chance
the chance that I would choose enlistment
rather than go to college.
the chance that I would choose singleness
rather than marriage.
the chance that I would choose life over death.
and yet this isn't chance,
but a divine purpose
a purpose to exist
a purpose to live
a purpose to serve others
and a purpose to die.
this thing called life
is an extension of God's grace
holy, not wavered
loving, full of light
and when we seek his presence
he smiles lovingly to rain grace
in our hearts.
