Natural Defences

By CelticChick

~I dreamed~ i was leaving you
after cleaning the house
immaculate perception
bundling my things, all
tying them tightly, each,
with an unjarred sense of propriety
ready for a harder road
in my cold hardened mood.

~i dreamed~ i was diseased
from head to toe
when one ugly thing was healed
another appeared to engulf
another inch of my skin
to kill my healthy attitude
and murder my will
to want to survive.

~i dreamed~ i was immersed in water
drowning slowly loudly fearfully
conscious of every wet breath
in surround sound suppressed
in silence
a scream untendered in
oneness, aloneness, without
redress
away from all the people
in my mind’s eye.

~i dreamed~ i was touched deeply
moved from the inside out
my head heavy my heart aching
my body air light,
i moved away from them both
deftly steadily in an
upward floating movement
like a dandelion spore in flight
laughing slightly at my air playmate
along it’s windward way.

~i dreamed~ i walked along the beach
the coalhot sand blistering my soles
but enjoying the burn that reminded
me that i was alive!
and well wanting
from that which i could tell
was the journey
the willing walk into fire
to be chosen first
before i could cool my blistered soul.

~i dreamed~ the sun was searing
burning and bubbling my skin
as i calmly watched,
the pain enticing a pure clean beautiful
thing glorious in the festering
protective fluids my body
gave so friendfully divinely
spurring along this pure reaction
to deep sleep, these innate
natural defenses in play.

enjoying the burn that reminds you you're alive... now that's living in the moment. :)
