A Checkered Past, mixed with Black and Green

By Dark Nymph

A silver crossed stitch crossed by a liquid needle.
The fiery sensation of forgotten bliss, caught by an endeavor
Lying in wait, waiting for the sunlight's pure splendor.

A checkered past, mixed with black and green,,
Left the world trying not to clean off the slates of despair,
But to break off from the place where she once stood.
A hole once burrowed, fills up as tension seizes the day.
Determined not to give to the delusions of needs,
A slight pain wraps itself around her heart,
As she starts the process of crossing her liquid needle,
Just to stop as she reflects back on a particular spot.

Gripping the needle tightly,
And closing her almost nonexistent eyes,
She plunges in deep, determining for the last time,
She would not waste her tears over a corrupted state,
And let the last tear she would cry, evaporate from her skin.

Finishing up, she cuts off her last ties around her heart.
Tucking away the liquid needle and strings into her mind.
Her eyes, once a empty pool of depression,
awake with a new found feeling of destruction.
Her lips once permanently fixated into a straight line,
break apart as the dawn of the day starts anew.
She stands tall, alone and embraced by her past.

The past that she let create havoc upon herself,
She stops and listens for once to her frame of mind,
Her frame of mind which told her to never run and hide.
Placing a hand over her silver crossed stitch,
She returns to her former self at last.

A checkered past, a hidden mask,
The something underneath and everything in between
Leaves the dark nymph to return to reality
Finally knowing the reasons to ‘black and green’
