Morning Glory Lover

By pureevil8

The subtle scarlet hues,

Flicker painfully across the sky,

Reflections of you in shattered glass,

Cutting canyons in my soul,

As I try desperately to piece together…

This puzzle of you…of me…of us,

Shards of past love,

Contempt and ever present heartbreak,

Splinters underneath fingernails,

Always working their way deeper,

Fear seeded and fertilized,

Beautiful as Morning Glory’s and just as vicious,

Completely consuming the Eden of my mind,

Trapping me in-between death and death.

I think I dreamt of escape once,

Though dreaming is for the living,

So it must have been but an illusion,

Because the Morning Glory’s smell to wonderful,

Why would I ever want to leave?

And look there…

That hole where my heart used to be…

They even filled that with blooming beauty,

Why would I ever want to leave?

In this world so dark and vengeful,

They caress me,

Cradle me with loving pedals,

Whisper sweet every things with every breeze,

My Morning Glory lover…

It’s just you and me…

Why would I ever want to leave?

It sounds like this was written in a place where sick things make sense. An unassuming destination pulling of the main drag finding oneself pleasantly captive in madness. I like this and I miss that night sky.
