Ye Curse.

For many of us 2013 was a year completely bent on our mental, physical and emotional torment/breaking.

This contest will pay tribute,(and hopefully farewell) to that in one of two ways.

1: Write a poem about being cursed. Any kind of curse will do.

Voodoo curse, mummy curse, just not curse words...

or

2: Write a poem about cursing something or someone.

Curse a ship, curse your crush's significant other, just hold off on the curse words....save those for real life verbal exchanges.

!ADDITIONAL CRITERIA!

In order to be considered for the prize of this contest you must follow these simple rules.

1: Use proper punctuation. No periods, no prize, period.

2: The title of the poem must include the words "Ye Curse".

Get to writing, make it dark, that's what we're all about.




All entries are judged on this fair and awesome scale.

25 Points

Creative Merit: 10 points (Good poems usually are written when the author takes time to write a good poem, does the poem have a point? moral? story? or is it just whining?)

Element: 10 points (Metaphor, Rhyme, Allusion, Allegory, Format/Structure, Alliteration, Simile, Personification, etc. At least something, used, not overused.

Meter: 5 points (A good poem is easy to read and the ideas flow well, simple, this is a poetic element, but crucial enough to hold it's own 5 points. Poets usually tank hard here)
