  • "In the darkest corners of my mind, Your essence haunts me, cruel and unkind, The memory of you, a bitter pill to swallow, Leaves me writhing in pain and sorrow. I sought you out in the starry night, Reaching for the heavens with all my might, But my grasp fell short, my efforts in vain, Your radiance forever out of my range. Your absence leaves me empty and cold, A hollow shell, battered and old, Yearning for the beat of your heart, But knowing we are forever apart. The tears flow freely, lost in the night, My silhouette trembling in the moon's light, Wilted flowers and grains of sand, The remnants of a love that is no longer grand. And as I watch you take the beach with you, I know that our love was doomed from the start, For you were the shore, unattainable and distant, And I was the tide, forever subservient."
