"I don't think After_Hours could have said it any better. And that's two poems in a row he's beat me to comment while saying exactly what I was thinking (except the "cooked fucking chook" part...i can't say those three words in succession crossed my mind). Anyways! The thrill/want/desire to write the next amazing line often trumps the message we are trying to send and stunts the thought process, until we are no longer writing/thinking about the feeling, but fretting over just how much we want to impress and show our writing prowess. The meaning gets lost in the shuffle. Suffice to say, most things don't need colorful prose to pack a punch. You write for you. "
