The allusion to ancient Delphic rites gave the salmon run a mystical, spiritual link to an ancient cycle, which the “swim fishies†and “pretty pink nails†and pretty pink toes†word choices kept from seeming stilted or a stretch. This created the sense of something being both ancient and profound, without being self aware that it was. Rites performed by instinct rather than training. Lovely piece, my man! Ciao, T/S"
