resurgency

By Mnemora

the earth soaks into every fiber of my soul.
beneath me the world breathes, and my chest heaves from the exertion.
I think I am dancing, so fast do the trees around me twirl,
but my head's just spinning...
spinning...
My eyes see your corpse... laying beside me,
but my soul feels you still permeating through to the depths of my being...
I have forsaken much for you... but I regret it not.
Because here in my chemical-filled heart...
Our color remains red.
No longer do I wait for you, patiently, beside the road.
I have you. I feel your lips again.
The lethargy dissolves, and finally I stand.
My eyes can see you... your here with me again.
My soul can love you... and now yours can love me.
