Dry Smoke

By DiscordiaDarling

..And maybe I was wrong,
for ever declaring that I was worth.
All the moments wasted with words.

..But maybe you're wrong,
for never arguing the facts.
Or slamming my head against the wall.

This isn't a competition,
to see who can break the most hearts.
Only a scavenger hunt for something
beyond our reach.

..And no this isn't the time,
nor place to bring out the big guns.
To shoot me down like a Nazi,
in world war two.

Only what we both want,
even though you're too shallow.
To realize you need this sort of closure.

Air filled promises,
and tarnished fantasies.
All left from a whirl wind of emotions.

That tore through this house,
and my loyal smile.
Evaporating all hopes for the future.
Like a sadistic sun.
