I want you, but I don't need you.

By DiscordiaDarling

I don't need your half hearted compliments,
or the load of bullshit you insist of force feeding me.
Oh, and lets not forget the "Oh, I swear you're the only one."
I don't need you there at night,
Holding me tightly so my heart doesn't escape my chest.

Then find it's home in some obnoxious homo erotic dance.
I don't need you wasting your time with me,
that you could be spending with your career ladder climbing friends.
Arguing the growing numbers in Microsoft.

But.. and that's a gigantic but..

I want your cheerful eyes,
and all too often knowing smile.
I want those moments when I smile just to know you're here,
and how I almost cry when you lay your hands upon me.
I want you to be this facade all the time, never ending.

But.. and that's a gigantic but..

I know that can never be,
sooner or later you shift back into the crazed money fiend.
That can't stand the idea of losing another deal.
Who finds shame in knowing he's fucking a 17 year old girl.
The fact I am mature for my age doesn't seem relative in those moments.

So...

Lets face facts,
Stop playing the everything is going to be okay game.
Failing at making Me seem worth the hassle,
actually making us seem worth hassle.
When we all know were at 2 polar opposites of the life plot.

Just...

Tear out the chapters,
and start a new..
and I will make this easy for you,
lie to cool the burn...

I want you, but I don't need you.

I was laughing while reading the 1st part, and know that feeling of acceptance and compromise,...still hurts, but expecting the blow does seem to lessen the impact a bit, or the accepting the temporary nature of some affairs.
