A night to remember

By EnlightenedFailure

A concealing darkness surrounds us
Leaving us to play

Though it is when we are not playing do I notice it
Notice the look in your eye
Notice the way the light ever so softly falls across your face
Revealing the beauty the dark had hidden

Looking at your face.... your eyes.... your lips
I run my hand across it ever so gently
And you look over
And it is then when I find myself caught in the moment

A moment I want not to forget
A moment I want not to end
A moment that returns again and again after it has left
A moment I enjoy every time

But it was when we sat there
Talking….

Again the light flowing across your face
The night growing longer
Knowing I should go
It was then I dwelled

Dwelled on what it was in these moments... but to no avail......
I wish I knew what it was that made my eyes never want to leave yours
My hand never leaves yours
And then the darkness placed a gloomy thought in my mind

One I wish not to have
One where it was no longer me u shared these moments with... but another
But then I opened my eyes
To find your right there

And it was like they rushed the darkness from my mind
So I lay here now
Drifting off so slowly…

Wondering what you think.....
What you think about me......
What you think about when you leave....
Wondering what you think about before you drift off to sleep.....

And as I find my eyes closing
I find myself hoping I do not dream alone
Dreaming of a day
In which our hearts are free

No longer hiding their desires in the shadow…
